A wintry day today but yesterday was almost like spring - see below a walk in the woods, just a 10 minute drive inland to Laputa, a small wood by the Erne with snowdrops and ancient trees. The wood is a remnant of a seventeenth house and garden that inspired a visitor, Dean Jonathan Swift, to give the name Laputa to one of the lands visited by Gulliver on his Travels.
The original Laputa was submerged by the artificial lake created by the Cathleen's Falls dam at Ballyshannon.
