Surf is up to 8 foot at the beach and 10 or higher off the Creek. Wind is gale force 9, increasing to storm force 11 during squalls. Still no tide info but Finnegans shop sells Rossnowlagh Tide Tables if you urgently need to know if the tide will ever go out today. For now it doesn't look likely.
The real drama this morning is at the Creek with 10 foot walls of water riding on to the rocks below the Green Stairs and across the Connachtman. The Ladies pool has become a surf break with its own 6 footers rollling across.
Lots of Creek pictures below taken from the top of Blue Stairs and Green Stairs. (Where's Blue Stairs/Green Stairs? Ask a local)
Photos 8.45am. Swell is 2 foot with a chilly southwesterly force 3 cross/onshore breeze.
Still no tide info. I'll get round to it. Meanwhile check for tide details in surf forecast sites in sidebar or go to Finnegans shop to buy your own Rossnowlagh tide tables.
Below, first 2012 walkabout with pictures of this morning's amazing light and sky.
Swell is 2 foot with a force 4 southwesterly cross/onshore breeze.
No tide information till I remember to ask for tide tables over in Liam Finnegan's shop/Post Office. Meanwhile, tide info on surf sites (see sidebar) should be close to accurate.
