Below, an apple tree in bloom above the Back Line. Last year's the cold spring kept the bees indoors, snug in their hives so there was no apple crop. The bees are out and about this year so maybe the tree will fruit this year. According to Keating's "Irish Placenames", one likely translation of "Rossnowlagh" is the Headland of the Apples. They certainly grow well here.
