The sea looks flat with a 3 -4 foot swell close to shore. There is, however, a massive surge that is pushing the sea far up the slipways and is making a sound like thunder as it strikes the cliffs, even though the highest of the new moon high tides are over since yesterday. The air is calm with sudden, brief, southeasterly cross/offshore force 5 gusts. Another storm pending later today.
