A fine 3 foot swell this morning with a warm force 1-2 south southeasterly offshore breeze.

Below, gulls and innumerable land birds have been feasting on maggots breeding in the rotten seaweed at the south end of the beach. The high tide seems to lift the maggots out of the weed so easy pickings for the birds. In the photos below they are glutted and resting but should be in action again this evening during the couple of hours before high tide, if the current swell doesn't carry off the seaweed. For now, a spectacular sight that has been going on for the past week.
