Following with yesterday's walkabout, looking at the effects of stormy seas as well as other mundane things.
First, the effects of stormy seas that seem to have rolled up the boardwalk so neatly.
And here, the flat rocky shore revealed when sand was removed by storm
Erosion isn't a new phenomenon on the beach. The pillbox hut below, where Rossnowlagh's LDF (Dad's Army Irish style) kept lookout for a Nazi invasion, was built on dry land about 60 years ago.
And here is the last lifebelt post staunchly standing when all the rest have been washed away.
Finally, if you've ever wondered what happens to the contents of portaloos, (I've heard that cosmetic companies use it for its urea content - check your expensive moisturizer to see urea listed as an ingredient) here's the poop wagon taking it away. The operator tells me it's unbelievable what people put down there, especially in summer. Hmmm.
