I was mistaken in my prediction in earlier post. Swell is rising nicely. Very surfable right now. No time to post a pic right now. Happy surfing all!

In theory, it is surf and it looks very pretty after weeks of calm but it hasn't packed the energy needed to power a surf board and, going by forecasts, isn't likely to, today. About 8 inches in a very light south westerly breeze.

The inhouse surfer took a look, said it's OK for kayaking, and pulled the quilt back over her head.

Good lines - 8.50 am 12 June 2009

As expected, good lines of surf are building up as the tide rises.

The inhouse surfer, starved of waves for weeks past, has taken her fish out and will head down to the beach any minute now.

A small swell right now, 6 inches or so, with light south west breeze. It promises to get bigger as the tide rises over the next few hours. Wave period forecast at windguru.com suggests that there will be surf later today evening and also early tomorrow (Sunday) morning.
